North Shore

Planned Gifts

When you name the North Shore Community Land Trust in your will or trust, you are making a permanent gift to the people of the North Shore of Oahu.

Your gift will be used to purchase local open space and to preserve the character, diversity and beauty of our local landscape. Your will is your opportunity to leave a legacy of permanently protected natural lands.

When your attorney draws up your will or living trust, the North Shore Community Land Trust should be designated as: North Shore Community Land Trust, a Hawaii non-profit public benefit corporation, with Business Address of P.O. Box 1179, Haleiwa, HI  96712.

NSCLT's taxpayer identification number is: 94-3276211.

We suggest that you specify that your bequest be: "used in such a manner as the Board of Directors of the North Shore Community Land Trust shall, in its discretion, determine." However, should you wish to restrict your bequest to a particular program or programs, we would be pleased to work with you to ensure that your wishes will be met.

We appreciate your considering a bequest to the North Shore Community Land Trust. Your bequest to NSCLT could be a particular dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or even a particular asset or group of assets. Bequests will be distributed after all debts, taxes and expenses of your estate have been paid.

Should you decide to make NSCLT a beneficiary of your will or living trust, it would be helpful for us to know of your intentions. If you would like, you could provide NSCLT a copy of the relevant portion of your will or living trust so that we could ensure that your wishes are carried out at the appropriate time. This information will, of course, be kept strictly confidential.

We would be pleased to provide further information on naming NSCLT as a beneficiary of your will, and the tax implications of such a gift. We also would be happy to discuss other options, such as real estate gifts or charitable remainder trusts. Please contact us at (808) 479-9818.
